मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-251

यानि चैवंप्रकाराणि कालाद भूमिर्न भक्षयेत ।
तानि संधिषु सीमायामप्रकाशानि कारयेत ॥२५१॥
251. yāni caivaṁprakārāṇi kālād bhūmirna bhakṣayet ,
tāni saṁdhiṣu sīmāyāmaprakāśāni kārayet.
251. yāni ca evam prakārāṇi kālāt bhūmiḥ na bhakṣayet
| tāni sandhiṣu sīmāyām aprakāśāni kārayet
251. bhūmiḥ kālāt yāni ca evam prakārāṇi na bhakṣayet,
tāni sandhiṣu sīmāyām aprakāśāni kārayet
251. The earth does not consume these kinds of things over time; one should place them unexposed at the boundary junctions or within the boundary markers.
