मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-298

गर्धभाजाविकानां तु दण्डः स्यात पञ्चमाषिकः ।
माषिकस्तु भवेद दण्डः श्वसूकरनिपातने ॥२९८॥
298. gardhabhājāvikānāṁ tu daṇḍaḥ syāt pañcamāṣikaḥ ,
māṣikastu bhaved daṇḍaḥ śvasūkaranipātane.

298. A fine of five māṣas should be imposed for [offenses concerning] donkeys, goats, and sheep. However, a fine of one māṣa should be incurred for the killing of a dog or a pig.
