मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-8, verse-340

योऽदत्तादायिनो हस्तात्लिप्सेत ब्राह्मणो धनम ।
याजनाध्यापनेनापि यथा स्तेनस्तथैव सः ॥३४०॥
340. yo'dattādāyino hastātlipseta brāhmaṇo dhanam ,
yājanādhyāpanenāpi yathā stenastathaiva saḥ.
340. yaḥ adattādāyinaḥ hastāt lipsīta brāhmaṇaḥ dhanam
yājana adhyāpanena api yathā stenaḥ tathā eva saḥ
340. yaḥ brāhmaṇaḥ adattādāyinaḥ hastāt dhanam lipsīta

340. That Brahmin (brāhmaṇa) who desires wealth from the hand of one who has unlawfully acquired it, even through officiating at Vedic rituals (yājana) or teaching, he is indeed just like a thief.
