महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-14, verse-62

वालखिल्या मघवता अवज्ञाताः पुरा किल ।
तैः क्रुद्धैर्भगवान्रुद्रस्तपसा तोषितो ह्यभूत् ॥६२॥
62. vālakhilyā maghavatā avajñātāḥ purā kila ,
taiḥ kruddhairbhagavānrudrastapasā toṣito hyabhūt.

kruddhaiḥ bhagavān rudraḥ tapasā toṣitaḥ hi abhūt

62. Indeed, in ancient times, the Valakhilyas were disrespected by Indra. Those enraged (sages) indeed pleased the glorious Lord Rudra through their austerity (tapas).
