महादेवेन तुष्टेन क्षत्रियाणां क्षयंकरः ।

137. paraśustīkṣṇadhāraśca datto rāmasya yaḥ purā ,

kārtavīryo hato yena cakravartī mahāmṛdhe.

And the sharp-edged axe, which was given to Rāma previously by the pleased Mahādeva, was the cause of the destruction of the kṣatriyas. By this axe, the emperor Kārtavīrya was slain in a great battle.
