महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-14, verse-39

गोचारिणोऽथाश्मकुट्टा दन्तोलूखलिनस्तथा ।
मरीचिपाः फेनपाश्च तथैव मृगचारिणः ॥३९॥
39. gocāriṇo'thāśmakuṭṭā dantolūkhalinastathā ,
marīcipāḥ phenapāśca tathaiva mṛgacāriṇaḥ.
39. gocāriṇaḥ atha aśmakuṭṭāḥ dantolūkhālinaḥ tathā
marīcipāḥ phenapāḥ ca tathā eva mṛgacāriṇaḥ
39. Moreover, there were ascetics who grazed like cows, those who pounded their food with stones, and those who used their teeth as a mortar. Similarly, there were those who subsisted on sunbeams, those who drank only foam, and those who wandered like deer, living on wild plants.
