महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-14, verse-161

क्षीरोदः सागराणां च शैलानां हिमवान्गिरिः ।
वर्णानां ब्राह्मणश्चासि विप्राणां दीक्षितो द्विजः ।
आदिस्त्वमसि लोकानां संहर्ता काल एव च ॥१६१॥
161. kṣīrodaḥ sāgarāṇāṁ ca śailānāṁ himavāngiriḥ ,
varṇānāṁ brāhmaṇaścāsi viprāṇāṁ dīkṣito dvijaḥ ,
ādistvamasi lokānāṁ saṁhartā kāla eva ca.

161. Among the oceans, you are the Milk Ocean; among mountains, you are the Himalaya. Among the social orders (varṇa), you are the brahmin, and among the learned, you are the initiated twice-born. You are the origin of the worlds, and you are also the destroyer, indeed, time (kāla) itself.
