महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-136, verse-186

तस्मात्सर्वास्ववस्थासु रक्षेज्जीवितमात्मनः ।

186. Therefore, in all situations, one should protect one's own life (ātman). For possessions, progeny, and indeed everything, belongs to one who is alive.
