महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-136, verse-169

बलवत्संनिकर्षो हि न कदाचित्प्रशस्यते ।
प्रशान्तादपि मे प्राज्ञ भेतव्यं बलिनः सदा ॥१६९॥
169. balavatsaṁnikarṣo hi na kadācitpraśasyate ,
praśāntādapi me prājña bhetavyaṁ balinaḥ sadā.

169. Indeed, close proximity to the powerful is never recommended. O wise one, one should always be fearful even of a strong person who appears to be peaceful.
