महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-136, verse-105

न हि कश्चित्कृते कार्ये कर्तारं समवेक्षते ।
तस्मात्सर्वाणि कार्याणि सावशेषाणि कारयेत् ॥१०५॥

105. na hi kaścitkṛte kārye kartāraṁ samavekṣate ,
tasmātsarvāṇi kāryāṇi sāvaśeṣāṇi kārayet.

105. Indeed, no one regards the doer once a task is completed. Therefore, one should have all tasks performed in such a way that something remains unfinished.
