महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-136, verse-137

अर्थयुक्तिमविज्ञाय यः शुभे कुरुते मतिम् ।
मित्रे वा यदि वा शत्रौ तस्यापि चलिता मतिः ॥१३७॥
137. arthayuktimavijñāya yaḥ śubhe kurute matim ,
mitre vā yadi vā śatrau tasyāpi calitā matiḥ.

137. Whoever, without understanding the practical considerations (artha-yukti), directs their intellect (mati) towards what seems auspicious, whether it be regarding a friend or an enemy, their intellect (mati) also becomes unsteady.
