महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-3, verse-86

स कदाचिद्याज्यकार्येणाभिप्रस्थित उत्तङ्कं नाम शिष्यं नियोजयामास ।
भो उत्तङ्क यत्किंचिदस्मद्गृहे परिहीयते तदिच्छाम्यहमपरिहीणं भवता क्रियमाणमिति ॥८६॥
86. sa kadācidyājyakāryeṇābhiprasthita uttaṅkaṁ nāma śiṣyaṁ niyojayāmāsa ,
bho uttaṅka yatkiṁcidasmadgṛhe parihīyate tadicchāmyahamaparihīṇaṁ bhavatā kriyamāṇamiti.
86. sa kadācit yājyakāryeṇa abhiprasthitaḥ
uttaṅkam nāma śiṣyam niyojayām āsa bho uttaṅka
yatkiṃcit asmadgṛhe parihīyate tat
icchāmi aham aparihīṇam bhavatā kriyamāṇam iti
86. Once, when he was leaving for a sacrificial ritual, he appointed a disciple named Utṭaṅka, saying: 'O Utṭaṅka, I wish that whatever is lacking in our household should be made complete by you.'
