महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-3, verse-117

स तामुवाच ।
एते कुण्डले गुर्वर्थं मे भिक्षिते दातुमर्हसीति ॥११७॥
117. sa tāmuvāca ,
ete kuṇḍale gurvarthaṁ me bhikṣite dātumarhasīti.
117. sa tām uvāca ete kuṇḍale guru-artham
me bhikṣite dātum arhasi iti
117. He said to her, "These two earrings have been requested by me for my preceptor's sake. You ought to give them."
