महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-3, verse-141

बहूनि नागवर्त्मानि गङ्गायास्तीर उत्तरे ।
इच्छेत्कोऽर्कांशुसेनायां चर्तुमैरावतं विना ॥१४१॥
141. bahūni nāgavartmāni gaṅgāyāstīra uttare ,
icchetko'rkāṁśusenāyāṁ cartumairāvataṁ vinā.

141. There are many serpent paths on the northern bank of the Ganga. Who would desire to move among the host of sunbeams without Airāvata?
