स उपाध्यायं प्रत्युवाच ।
भैक्षेण वृत्तिं कल्पयामीति ॥३६॥

36. sa upādhyāyaṁ pratyuvāca ,
bhaikṣeṇa vṛttiṁ kalpayāmīti.

36. saḥ upādhyāyam prati uvāca
bhaikṣeṇa vṛttim kalpayāmi iti

36. He replied to the teacher, "I sustain myself by alms."
