महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-3, verse-57

स तं प्रत्युवाच ।
अर्कपत्राणि भक्षयित्वान्धीभूतोऽस्मि ।
अतः कूपे पतित इति ॥५७॥
57. sa taṁ pratyuvāca ,
arkapatrāṇi bhakṣayitvāndhībhūto'smi ,
ataḥ kūpe patita iti.
57. सः तम् प्रत्युवाच अर्कपत्राणि भक्षयित्वा
अन्धीभूतः अस्मि अतः कूपे पतितः इति
57. He replied to him, "Having eaten ark leaves, I have become blind. Therefore, I fell into the well."
