महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-81, verse-65

किंदाने च नरः स्नात्वा किंजप्ये च महीपते ।
अप्रमेयमवाप्नोति दानं जप्यं च भारत ॥६५॥
65. kiṁdāne ca naraḥ snātvā kiṁjapye ca mahīpate ,
aprameyamavāpnoti dānaṁ japyaṁ ca bhārata.
65. kim dāne ca naraḥ snātvā kim japye ca mahīpate
aprameyam avāpnoti dānam japyām ca bhārata
65. O King, O Bhārata, what immense merit does a man obtain by bathing (in these sacred waters) and (then performing) acts of giving (dāna) and recitation (japa)? He verily achieves immeasurable spiritual rewards from his giving (dāna) and recitation (japa).
