महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-81, verse-23

पूरयित्वा नरव्याघ्र रुधिरेणेति नः श्रुतम् ।
पितरस्तर्पिताः सर्वे तथैव च पितामहाः ।
ततस्ते पितरः प्रीता राममूचुर्महीपते ॥२३॥
23. pūrayitvā naravyāghra rudhireṇeti naḥ śrutam ,
pitarastarpitāḥ sarve tathaiva ca pitāmahāḥ ,
tataste pitaraḥ prītā rāmamūcurmahīpate.
23. pūrayitvā naravyāghra rudhireṇa iti
naḥ śrutam pitaraḥ tarpitāḥ sarve
tathā eva ca pitāmahāḥ tataḥ te
pitaraḥ prītāḥ rāmam ūcuḥ mahīpate
23. O tiger among men, it is said that he (Paraśurāma) filled those lakes with blood. All the ancestors, and likewise the grandfathers, were thereby propitiated. Then, O lord of the earth, those pleased ancestors spoke to Paraśurāma.
