महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-81, verse-53

ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र मानुषं लोकविश्रुतम् ।
यत्र कृष्णमृगा राजन्व्याधेन परिपीडिताः ।
अवगाह्य तस्मिन्सरसि मानुषत्वमुपागताः ॥५३॥
53. tato gaccheta rājendra mānuṣaṁ lokaviśrutam ,
yatra kṛṣṇamṛgā rājanvyādhena paripīḍitāḥ ,
avagāhya tasminsarasi mānuṣatvamupāgatāḥ.

lokaviśrutam | yatra kṛṣṇamṛgā rājan
vyādhena paripīḍitāḥ | avagāhya
tasmin sarasi mānuṣatvam upāgatāḥ
53. Then, O King (rājendra), one should go to Mānuṣa, a place renowned throughout the world. It is there, O King (rājan), that black deer (kṛṣṇamṛga), having been tormented by a hunter, bathed in that lake and attained a human form.
