महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-81, verse-125

पुण्यमाहुः कुरुक्षेत्रं कुरुक्षेत्रात्सरस्वतीम् ।
सरस्वत्याश्च तीर्थानि तीर्थेभ्यश्च पृथूदकम् ॥१२५॥
125. puṇyamāhuḥ kurukṣetraṁ kurukṣetrātsarasvatīm ,
sarasvatyāśca tīrthāni tīrthebhyaśca pṛthūdakam.
125. puṇyam āhuḥ kurukṣetram kurukṣetrāt sarasvatīm
sarasvatyāḥ ca tīrthāni tīrthebhyaḥ ca pṛthūdakam
125. They declare Kurukṣetra to be sacred. More sacred than Kurukṣetra is the Sarasvatī river, and holier than the Sarasvatī are her sacred bathing places (tīrtha). Holier still than these sacred bathing places (tīrtha) is Pṛthūdaka.
