महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-81, verse-54

तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा ब्रह्मचारी जितेन्द्रियः ।
सर्वपापविशुद्धात्मा स्वर्गलोके महीयते ॥५४॥
54. tasmiṁstīrthe naraḥ snātvā brahmacārī jitendriyaḥ ,
sarvapāpaviśuddhātmā svargaloke mahīyate.

54. A man who bathes in that sacred place (tīrtha), observing celibacy (brahmacārī) and having controlled his senses (jitendriya), becomes one whose soul (ātman) is completely purified from all sins, and such a one is glorified in the heavenly realm.
