पिबन्निव बभौ चापि सोर्मिजालं महार्णवम् ।
पिपासुरिव चाकाशं ददृशे स महाकपिः ॥५३॥

53. pibanniva babhau cāpi sormijālaṃ mahārṇavam ,
pipāsuriva cākāśaṃ dadṛśe sa mahākapiḥ.

53. piban iva babhau ca api sa-ūrmijālam mahārṇavam
pipāsuḥ iva ca ākāśam dadṛśe sa mahā-kapiḥ

53. saḥ mahā-kapiḥ sa-ūrmijālam mahārṇavam piban iva babhau ca api,
ca ākāśam pipāsuḥ iva dadṛśe.

53. And that great monkey (mahākapi) appeared as if drinking the great ocean with its multitude of waves, and as if thirsty for the sky.
