मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-84

न राज्ञः प्रतिगृह्णीयादराजन्यप्रसूतितः ।
सूनाचक्रध्वजवतां वेशेनैव च जीवताम ॥८४॥
84. na rājñaḥ pratigṛhṇīyādarājanyaprasūtitaḥ ,
sūnācakradhvajavatāṁ veśenaiva ca jīvatām.

84. One should not accept gifts from a king who is not a kshatriya by birth, nor from those who maintain slaughterhouses, merchants, standard-bearers, or those who live by prostitution.
