मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-30

पाषण्डिनो विकर्मस्थान बैडालव्रतिकान शठान ।
हैतुकान बकवृत्तींश्च वाङ्मात्रेणापि नार्चयेत ॥३०॥
30. pāṣaṇḍino vikarmasthān baiḍālavratikān śaṭhān ,
haitukān bakavṛttīṁśca vāṅmātreṇāpi nārcayet.
30. pāṣaṇḍinaḥ vikarmasthān baiḍālavratikān śaṭhān
haitukān baka-vr̥ttīṁś ca vān-mātrēṇa api na arcayet
30. One should not honor, even with words alone (vān mātrēṇāpi), those who are heretics (pāṣaṇḍinaḥ), those engaged in forbidden actions (vikarma-sthān), those who practice deception like cats (baiḍālavratikān), the wicked (śaṭhān), the sophists (haitukān), or those who act deceitfully like cranes (baka-vr̥ttīṁś ca).
