मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-111

यावदेकानुदिष्टस्य गन्धो लेपश्च तिष्ठति ।
विप्रस्य विदुषो देहे तावद ब्रह्म न कीर्तयेत ॥१११॥
111. yāvadekānudiṣṭasya gandho lepaśca tiṣṭhati ,
viprasya viduṣo dehe tāvad brahma na kīrtayet.
111. yavat ekānuḍiṣṭasya gandhaḥ lepaḥ ca tiṣṭhati |
viprasya viduṣaḥ dehe tāvat brahma na kīrtayet
111. As long as the scent and residue of a deceased person (ekānuḍiṣṭa) remain on the body of a learned Brahmin (vidvān vipra), one should not chant the name of Brahman (brahma).
