मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-107

नित्यानध्याय एव स्याद ग्रामेषु नगरेषु च ।
धर्मनैपुण्यकामानां पूतिगन्धे च सर्वदा ॥१०७॥
107. nityānadhyāya eva syād grāmeṣu nagareṣu ca ,
dharmanaipuṇyakāmānāṁ pūtigandhe ca sarvadā.

107. There shall be constant non-study in villages and cities, and always in the presence of the stench of that which is related to the pursuit of excellence in one's innate constitution (dharma) and desires.
