मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-69

बालातपः प्रेतधूमो वर्ज्यं भिन्नं तथाऽसनम ।
न छिन्द्यान्नखरोमाणि दन्तैर्नोत्पाटयेन्नखान ॥६९॥
69. bālātapaḥ pretadhūmo varjyaṁ bhinnaṁ tathā'sanam ,
na chindyānnakharomāṇi dantairnotpāṭayennakhān.

69. Morning sun, the smoke of the dead, forbidden food, and broken things are to be avoided. One should not trim nails or hair with teeth, nor pluck out toenails.
