मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-193

त्रिष्वप्येतेषु दत्तं हि विधिनाऽप्यर्जितं धनम ।
दातुर्भवत्यनर्थाय परत्रादातुरेव च ॥१९३॥
193. triṣvapyeteṣu dattaṁ hi vidhinā'pyarjitaṁ dhanam ,
dāturbhavatyanarthāya paratrādātureva ca.
193. triṣu api eteṣu dattam hi vidhinā api arjitam
dhanam dātuḥ bhavaty anarthāya paratrā dātur eva ca
193. For even when gifts are given to these three, or wealth is earned by prescribed means, it leads to misfortune for the giver and even more so for the receiver in the world beyond.
