मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-27

नानिष्ट्वा नवसस्येष्ट्या पशुना चाग्निमान द्विजः ।
नवान्नमद्यात्मांसं वा दीर्घमायुर्जिजीविषुः ॥२७॥
27. nāniṣṭvā navasasyeṣṭyā paśunā cāgnimān dvijaḥ ,
navānnamadyātmāṁsaṁ vā dīrghamāyurjijīviṣuḥ.
27. na iṣṭvā navasasyēṣṭyā paśunā ca agnimān dvijaḥ
navam annam adyāt ātmāṁsaṁ vā dīrgham āyuḥ jijīviṣuḥ
27. A twice-born person (dvija) who desires a long life (dīrgham āyuḥ) should not eat new grain, new produce (navasasyēṣṭyā), or meat obtained from animals (paśunā), after establishing the sacred fire (agnimān) and performing the required Vedic ritual (iṣṭvā).
