मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-4, verse-24

ज्ञानेनैवापरे विप्रा यजन्त्येतैर्मखैः सदा ।
ज्ञानमूलां क्रियामेषां पश्यन्तो ज्ञानचक्षुषा ॥२४॥
24. jñānenaivāpare viprā yajantyetairmakhaiḥ sadā ,
jñānamūlāṁ kriyāmeṣāṁ paśyanto jñānacakṣuṣā.
24. jñānena eva apare viprā yajanti etaiḥ makhaiḥ sadā
| jñānamūlāṃ kriyām eṣām paśyanto jñānacakṣuṣā
24. Other wise ones (vipra), by knowledge alone, always perform Vedic rituals (yajña) with these offerings (makha). Seeing that their action (kriyā) is rooted in knowledge, through the eye of knowledge (jñāna-cakṣuṣā).
