At the end of the harvest, with the offering of new grain; similarly, at the end of the season, a twice-born (dvija) performs Vedic rituals (adhvara). And at the beginning of the year (ayana), with a victim (paśu), and at the end of the year (samā), with Soma-based Vedic rituals (maḵha).
