मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-7, verse-134

यस्य राज्ञस्तु विषये श्रोत्रियः सीदति क्षुधा ।
तस्यापि तत क्षुधा राष्ट्रमचिरेणैव सीदति ॥१३४॥
134. yasya rājñastu viṣaye śrotriyaḥ sīdati kṣudhā ,
tasyāpi tat kṣudhā rāṣṭramacireṇaiva sīdati.

134. If in the kingdom of a king, a learned brahmin (śrotriya) suffers from hunger, then his kingdom also, along with him, will soon suffer from hunger.
