महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-17, verse-21

तदाप्रभृति चैवायमीश्वरस्य महात्मनः ।
स्तवराजेति विख्यातो जगत्यमरपूजितः ।
ब्रह्मलोकादयं चैव स्तवराजोऽवतारितः ॥२१॥
21. tadāprabhṛti caivāyamīśvarasya mahātmanaḥ ,
stavarājeti vikhyāto jagatyamarapūjitaḥ ,
brahmalokādayaṁ caiva stavarājo'vatāritaḥ.
21. tadāprabhṛti ca eva ayam īśvarasya
mahātmanaḥ stavarāja iti vikhyātaḥ
jagati amarapūjitaḥ brahmalokāt
ayam ca eva stavarājaḥ avatāritaḥ
21. From that time onwards, this (hymn) became renowned as the 'King of Hymns' (stavarāja) of the great Lord, worshipped by immortals in the world. And this King of Hymns was brought down from the world of Brahmā (brahmaloka).
