महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-17, verse-162

एवमन्ये न कुर्वन्ति देवाः संसारमोचनम् ।
मनुष्याणां महादेवादन्यत्रापि तपोबलात् ॥१६२॥
162. evamanye na kurvanti devāḥ saṁsāramocanam ,
manuṣyāṇāṁ mahādevādanyatrāpi tapobalāt.
162. evam anye na kurvanti devāḥ saṃsāramocanam
manuṣyāṇām mahādevāt anyatra api tapobalāt
162. evam anye devāḥ manuṣyāṇām saṃsāramocanam na kurvanti.
mahādevāt anyatra api tapobalāt (na kurvanti).
162. Thus, other gods do not grant liberation (mokṣa) from the cycle of mundane existence (saṃsāra) for human beings. This is not achieved even through the power of asceticism (tapas), except by Mahādeva.
