महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-17, verse-15

सर्वपाप्मापहमिदं चतुर्वेदसमन्वितम् ।
प्रयत्नेनाधिगन्तव्यं धार्यं च प्रयतात्मना ।
शान्तिकं पौष्टिकं चैव रक्षोघ्नं पावनं महत् ॥१५॥
15. sarvapāpmāpahamidaṁ caturvedasamanvitam ,
prayatnenādhigantavyaṁ dhāryaṁ ca prayatātmanā ,
śāntikaṁ pauṣṭikaṁ caiva rakṣoghnaṁ pāvanaṁ mahat.

15. This, which dispels all evils and is endowed with the four Vedas, should be diligently learned and practiced by a person with a disciplined self (ātman). It is indeed peace-giving, nourishing, destructive of evil forces, and greatly purifying.
