85.
When Mercury (candraja) is in the house of pleasure or intellect (`kautuka`) and in the first house (ascendant, `aṅgābha`) at the time of birth (janmakāle) for individuals (nṛṇām), then their musical knowledge (gītavidyā) will be flawless (anavadyā). When (Mercury is) in the seventh house (saptame), there is attachment/relations (rati) with a courtesan (vāravadhū). If (Mercury is) in the eighth house (`nidhana`), and in an auspicious sign (puṇyabhe), the intellect (mati) is virtuous (puṇyayuktā) and there is a good destiny (sadgati).
