विद्याविवेकरहितो हिततोषहीनो मनी ।
जनोभवति चन्द्रसुतेऽक्षि पाणौ ।
पुत्रालये सुतकलत्रसुखेन हीनः कन्या ।
प्रजा नृपतिगेहबुधो वरार्थः ॥७८॥

janobhavati candrasute'kṣi pāṇau .
putrālaye sutakalatrasukhena hīnaḥ kanyā .
prajā nṛpatigehabudho varārthaḥ.

78. If Mercury, the son of the Moon (candrasuta), is in the second house (akṣi) and third house (pāṇau), a thoughtful person (manī jana) becomes devoid of knowledge and discrimination, and lacking in benefit and contentment. When Mercury is in the fifth house (putrālaya), one is deprived of happiness from children and spouse, and has female progeny (kanyā prajā). If Mercury is in the tenth house (nṛpatigeha), the person is one who desires boons (varārtha).
