बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-45, verse-8

स्वोच्चस्थः खेचरो दीप्तः स्वर्क्षे स्वस्थोऽधिमित्रभे ।
मुदितो मित्रभे शान्तः समभे दीन उच्यते ॥८॥

8. A planet (khecara) is said to be brilliant (dīpta) when in its sign of exaltation. It is called well-placed (svastha) in its own sign or a sign of an intimate friend. It is happy (mudita) in a friend's sign, and miserable (dīna) in a neutral sign.
