देवा ऊचुः ।
बिभर्तुं तेजसोऽर्धं ते न शक्ष्यामो महेश्वर ।
सर्वेषां नो बलार्धेन त्वमेव जहि शात्रवान् ॥६१॥

61. devā ūcuḥ ,
bibhartuṁ tejaso'rdhaṁ te na śakṣyāmo maheśvara ,
sarveṣāṁ no balārdhena tvameva jahi śātravān.

61. The gods said: "O great lord, we cannot bear even half of your splendor. Therefore, you alone, empowered by half the strength of all of us, must destroy the enemies."
