महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-24, verse-132

स तीव्रं तप आस्थाय प्रसादयितवान्भवम् ।
अस्त्रहेतोः प्रसन्नात्मा नियतः संयतेन्द्रियः ॥१३२॥
132. sa tīvraṁ tapa āsthāya prasādayitavānbhavam ,
astrahetoḥ prasannātmā niyataḥ saṁyatendriyaḥ.

132. Having undertaken severe asceticism (tapas), he pleased Bhava (Lord Śiva) for the sake of obtaining divine weapons. He was resolute in his purpose, with a serene mind (ātman) and controlled senses.
