महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-24, verse-26

येन रूपेण दैत्यस्तु येन वेषेण चैव ह ।
मृतस्तस्यां परिक्षिप्तस्तादृशेनैव जज्ञिवान् ॥२६॥
26. yena rūpeṇa daityastu yena veṣeṇa caiva ha ,
mṛtastasyāṁ parikṣiptastādṛśenaiva jajñivān.

mṛtaḥ tasyām parikṣiptaḥ tādṛśena eva jajñivān
26. yena rūpeṇa ca yena veṣeṇa daityaḥ mṛtaḥ tasyām parikṣiptaḥ,
saḥ tādṛśena eva jajñivān
26. Whatever form or guise a demon had when he died and was cast into that pond, he was reborn in precisely that same form.
