महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-164, verse-45

तस्य कर्णः शितान्बाणान्प्रतिहन्य हसन्निव ।
धनुः शरांश्च चिच्छेद सूतं चाभ्यहनच्छरैः ॥४५॥
45. tasya karṇaḥ śitānbāṇānpratihanya hasanniva ,
dhanuḥ śarāṁśca ciccheda sūtaṁ cābhyahanaccharaiḥ.

dhanuḥ śarān ca ciccheda sūtam ca abhyahanat śaraiḥ
45. karṇaḥ hasan iva tasya śitān bāṇān pratihanya (tasya) dhanuḥ

45. Karṇa, as if laughing, countered (Bhīmasena's) sharp arrows, then cut his (Bhīmasena's) bow and arrows, and struck his (Bhīmasena's) charioteer with (his own) arrows.
