महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-164, verse-101

गाहमानस्य ते सेनां मालवस्येन्द्रवर्मणः ।
अश्वत्थामेति विख्यातो गजः शक्रगजोपमः ॥१०१॥
101. gāhamānasya te senāṁ mālavasyendravarmaṇaḥ ,
aśvatthāmeti vikhyāto gajaḥ śakragajopamaḥ.

aśvatthāmā iti vikhyātaḥ gajaḥ śakragajopamaḥ
101. (yadā) mālavasya indravarmṇaḥ (senā) te senām gāhamānasya,
(tadā) aśvatthāmā iti vikhyātaḥ śakragajopamaḥ gajaḥ (āsīt).
101. As the forces of Indravarmā, the king of Mālava, were penetrating your army, there was a renowned elephant named Aśvatthāmā, who was like Indra's elephant.
