महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-8, verse-86

तत्र केचिन्नरा भीता व्यलीयन्त महीतले ।
तथैव तान्निपतितानपिंषन्गजवाजिनः ॥८६॥
86. tatra kecinnarā bhītā vyalīyanta mahītale ,
tathaiva tānnipatitānapiṁṣangajavājinaḥ.

tathā eva tān nipatitān apiṃṣan gajavājinaḥ
86. tatra bhītāḥ kecit narāḥ mahītale vyalīyanta
tathaiva gajavājinaḥ nipatitān tān apiṃṣan
86. There, some frightened men hid themselves on the ground. Similarly, elephants and horses crushed those who had fallen.
