महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-8, verse-137

स निःशेषानरीन्कृत्वा विरराज जनक्षये ।
युगान्ते सर्वभूतानि भस्म कृत्वेव पावकः ॥१३७॥
137. sa niḥśeṣānarīnkṛtvā virarāja janakṣaye ,
yugānte sarvabhūtāni bhasma kṛtveva pāvakaḥ.

137. Having completely eliminated his enemies, he shone brightly amidst the destruction of people, just as fire (pāvaka) at the end of an eon (yugānta) reduces all beings to ashes.
