Thus, O king (rājendra), that hero, having killed him, then rushed towards the other deeply sleeping great charioteers (mahārathas) here and there. He killed them, though they were struggling and trembling, just as a sacrificer (śamitā) kills animals (paśus) in a ritual sacrifice (makha).
