महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-8, verse-97

पलायतां दिशस्तेषां स्वानप्युत्सृज्य बान्धवान् ।
गोत्रनामभिरन्योन्यमाक्रन्दन्त ततो जनाः ॥९७॥
97. palāyatāṁ diśasteṣāṁ svānapyutsṛjya bāndhavān ,
gotranāmabhiranyonyamākrandanta tato janāḥ.
97. palāyatām diśaḥ teṣām svān api utsṛjya bāndhavān
gotranāmabhiḥ anyonyam ākrandanta tataḥ janāḥ
97. tataḥ janāḥ svān bāndhavān api utsṛjya teṣām

97. Then, abandoning even their own relatives, those people fled in all directions, crying out to each other by their family names.
