मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-3, verse-72

देवताऽतिथिभृत्यानां पितॄणामात्मनश्च यः ।
न निर्वपति पञ्चानामुच्छ्वसन्न स जीवति ॥७२॥
72. devatā'tithibhṛtyānāṁ pitṝṇāmātmanaśca yaḥ ,
na nirvapati pañcānāmucchvasanna sa jīvati.

| na nirvapati pañcānāmucchvasanna sa jīvati
72. He who does not properly provide for (nirvapayati) the gods (devatā), guests (atithi), servants (bhr̥tya), ancestors (pitṛ), and himself (ātman) – out of these five groups – he indeed does not truly live, even while breathing (ucchvasan).
