मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-3, verse-267

तिलैर्व्रीहियवैर्माषैरद्भिर्मूलफलेन वा ।
दत्तेन मासं तृप्यन्ति विधिवत पितरो नृणाम ॥२६७॥
267. tilairvrīhiyavairmāṣairadbhirmūlaphalena vā ,
dattena māsaṁ tṛpyanti vidhivat pitaro nṛṇām.

vā dattena māsam tṛpyanti vidhivat pitaraḥ nṛṇām
267. By offerings of sesamum seeds (tilaiḥ), rice (vrīhi), barley (yavaiḥ), black gram (māṣaiḥ), water (adbhiḥ), or fruits and roots (mūla-phalena), given according to the prescribed method, the ancestors (pitaraḥ) of humans (nṛṇām) are satisfied for a month (māsam).
