By offerings of sesamum seeds (tilaiḥ), rice (vrīhi), barley (yavaiḥ), black gram (māṣaiḥ), water (adbhiḥ), or fruits and roots (mūla-phalena), given according to the prescribed method, the ancestors (pitaraḥ) of humans (nṛṇām) are satisfied for a month (māsam).
