मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-3, verse-27

आच्छाद्य चार्चयित्वा च श्रुतशीलवते स्वयम ।
आहूय दानं कन्याया ब्राह्मो धर्मः प्रकीर्तितः ॥२७॥
27. ācchādya cārcayitvā ca śrutaśīlavate svayam ,
āhūya dānaṁ kanyāyā brāhmo dharmaḥ prakīrtitaḥ.

āhūya dānaṃ kanyāyā brāhmo dharmaḥ prakīrtitaḥ
27. The Brahma (marriage) is declared as the righteous way when, after adorning and honoring the bride and inviting the groom who is learned and of good character, the daughter is given (in marriage).
